Light Depression or Dysthymia
 

The Light depression or Dysthymia is a type of common, chronic and of low intensity depression, which includes symptoms that don’t disable so much, however, impedes the good functioning and the well-being of the person; it is caused mainly by people with negative thoughts. Many people with Dysthymia also can suffer of severe depressive episodes in some moment of their lifes. In general, the Dysthymia can last until 2 years (sometimes more). The Dysthymia is more frequent in women than in men and also can affect children. The symptoms of the Dysthymia are similar but with less affectation in people. That means that the symptoms are of low intensity.


In the children the dysthymic disorder generated frequently a damage in the performance in the school and the social interaction. Generally, children and teenagers with a dysthymic disorder are irritable and unstable, as well as sad. They have a low self-esteem and scarce social skills and are pessimisms. On the other hand, in the adults affect more in women than in men (proportion 3:1). The dysthymic disorder doesn’t cause a maniac episode, neither is related to a chronic psychotic disorder (Schizophrenia or delirious disorder), nor is generated by the physiological effects direct of a substance (for example: a drug, a medicine) or a medical disease
