One of the main causes of arthritis is the immunologic system, which works contradictorily, because it loses the control, identifying antibodies in the parts of the same person, injuring and destroying the parts of the organism, above all the joints. The exposition to some microorganisms can be the unleashing factor for arthritis. The rheumatism is a chronic disease originated by excess of humidity, much extended colds or by infectious diseases and presents especially in advance age being declared in form of pains in the joints (muscles or bones) above all in wintry periods.

The arthritis can be caused by previous diseases called rheumatic, like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis; youth arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis give rise to joint forms of rheumatism. The non-joint arthritis can be caused by bursitis and fibrositis, which is an inflammation of the fibrous tissue of the muscles. Other illnesses like the gout and lupus erythematosus also can cause rheumatic pains.
